WW2 German SS. Wehrpass. Totenkopf Division/ SS Headquarters.

WW2 German SS Wehrpass. In extremely good condition, with dates, and official entries.

Nr.14315, Ernest Huxelmann, SS- Unterscharfuhrer. SS Operational Headquarters, SS  Race and Settlement Department. Civil occupation on page 3 : SS - Mann. 
Born 15th March 1920 in Langenberg, Rhineland. Joined SS 1st June 1938. 

Entries show he was in hospital from May 1940 - March 1942. Would have been an active member of the SS Totenkopf Division at beginning of war and severely injured. Which would explain why he was not transferred to a fighting unit when discharged in 1942. He was transferred to the replacement unit of Totenkopf-Inf. Ers.Bt 1.111, and then transferred as medically unfit for active service in Russia.

He was again transferred on 5th May 1942 to the SS- Fuhrungshauptamt at SS Headquarters. And then again on 2nd July 1942 to the Rasse- Und Siedlungshauptamt- SS. A department that controlled the  racial " purity " of SS members ( and others) . No SS member could get married without this department's approval, only after thorough investigation of ancestors.

Another task of the Rasse - Und Siedlungshauptamt- SS  was the settling of the " Aryan" people in occupied territories, replacing the so called " inferior" population.

This department has a dark past and was involved with many atrocities, to numerous to mention here !!! 

Any SS documents relating to personnel of this department are VERY RARE, as the vast majority were destroyed by the owners or the SS before the end of the war for obvious reasons.
